Facilities Planner
The New York County District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking a Facilities Planner to work in its Facilities Design Unit. The Facilities Design Unit is responsible for supporting day-to-day operational requests for office renovations. Facilities Design is tasked with providing and managing the professional space planning, programming, design, construction management, overseeing inspection, space fit-out of all construction, expansion and renovation projects.
Responsibilities include directing design and project management, quality management and control, review and understanding technical content of construction documents, project delivery, general unit staff management and mentoring. Additional responsibilities include coordinating and cooperating with other internal departments to ensure efficiency and productivity for planning of projects and services.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a related field. Facilities design, construction management and site supervision preferred. Knowledge of AutoCAD 2005 (demonstration of proficiency will be part of the interview process), Microsoft Project, Windows 2000 and higher, and Microsoft Office essential. Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are required.

Community Affairs Coordinator
The Community Affairs Unit serves as a vital link between the District Attorney and the people of New York County. The Coordinator will work cooperatively with community groups in identifying neighborhood crime problems and will initiate strategies to solve these problems; attend various community based meetings; and participate in various community information forums and crime victim advocacy projects to discuss the role of the office and available resources. Additional duties include assisting landlords or managing agents, precinct and narcotics officers, and building residents in the use of the Trespass Affidavit and Narcotics Eviction Programs, and performing related duties.
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor's degree, community advocacy or related experience and be highly skilled in written and verbal communications. Must be a strong team player. Knowledge of the office and its resources helpful. Bilingual Spanish speaking ability a plus. Ability to attend meetings at night required. Ability to prepare both oral and written summaries is required.
