DA Vance and Members of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office March in 42nd Annual Pride Parade
June 26, 2011
On Sunday, June 26, 2011, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., marched in the 42nd annual NYC Pride Parade accompanied by about 50 Assistant District Attorneys, staff members, and friends. The first march began in 1970 in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. It has since grown to become the oldest and one of the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) events in the world. This year’s celebration was particularly meaningful due to the New York State Legislature voting to legalize same-sex marriage less than 48 hours earlier.
