Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Holds Gangs Awareness Workshop in East Harlem Church
On January 18, 2012, an Assistant District Attorney from the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, joined by Mariely Sanchez-Moronta of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Community Affairs Unit presented a Gang Awareness workshop at the church Asamblea de Iglesias Pentecostales de Jesucristo "Elohim” located in East Harlem. The Assistant District Attorney discussed how parents and members of the community can identify the signs of gang activity and proactively become involved in combating gang related influences. The work of the District Attorney’s Office was also discussed and information provided on how the community can get help if someone you know is a victim of a gang related crime.
