Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., today announced the sentencing of MASAKATSU YUKITOSHI, 46, to 7 ½ years in state prison for raping his female colleague while she was unconscious in a Times Square hotel room after sneaking a sleeping pill into her drink. On August 1, 2018, YUKITOSHI pleaded guilty in New York State Supreme Court to one count each of Rape in the First Degree, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, and Facilitating a Sex Offense with a Controlled Substance.
Following the defendant’s guilty plea, District Attorney Vance said: “This defendant abused workplace power dynamics to prey on a junior colleague in an appalling act of sexual assault. This ordinary business trip devolved into an utter nightmare as he drugged her with sleeping pills and then forced himself on her while she was totally incapable of consent. I would like to commend this survivor for her remarkable bravery in confronting the defendant and contacting law enforcement, and I thank our prosecutors for securing this notable conviction on her behalf. Our Sex Crimes Unit continues to deliver justice for victims of work-related sexual assault with professionalism, care, and the full force of our laws.
