Statement by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., on National Missing Children’s Day

May 25, 2016

“Each year on National Missing Children’s Day, we pause to remember ‎those who have gone missing or been exploited, and to reaffirm our commitment to securing justice for all child victims of crime. Etan Patz disappeared exactly 37 years ago, when his parents were 37 years old. National Missing Children’s Day would not exist without the work of Julie and Stan Patz, who have dedicated their lives since to raising awareness and advocating for important legislation to protect children. We are grateful to them, and remain steadfast in our commitment to seek justice for their family and bring an end to their decades-long ordeal.”
